Maths Ambassadors

C@N Maths Ambassadors

 

Our role is to manage, mark and assess children’s completed C@N (Calculating @ Nine) work.

 

During C@N, children use maths by:

  • Answering a set of questions in a timed slot (at 9 o’clock each morning),
  • Checking and improving on their previous week’s scores and basic skills,
  • Using multiplication and division in a range of different contexts and
  • Using prior knowledge to use and assess with larger numbers.

Maths Games Ambassadors

 

Our role is to plan, deliver and lead a lunch time maths games group with year Reception, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

 

In the club, children use maths by:

  • Playing different games, which test their addition skills,
  • Playing different games, which test their subtraction skills,
  • Playing different games, which test their multiplication skills and
  • Playing different games, which test their division skills.

All these games are linked to our C@N objectives.

50/50 Maths Ambassadors

 

Our role is to support the Year 3 and 4 children in Thursday’s 50/50 Roy Castle Enterprise After School Club. The aim of this club is to encourage our peers to use mathematics in real life situations to become financially numerate.

 

In the club, year 3 and 4 children use maths by:

  • Researching the cost of products,
  • Calculating the cost of buying products in bulk,
  • Budgeting resources for the largest profit and
  • Handling money and calculating change given.
