Today we are going to explore tens and ones in more detail. Look at the teaching slides and complete question 1, 2 and 3 on the worksheet to help your understanding of tens and ones. We will continue with question 4 and 5 on Monday. There is a link to a clip from Jack Hartmann which may help your child to see different ways to show teen numbers.
There are also supporting documents attached such as a ten frame, a tens and ones template and numbers to 20 which may help. You don't need to print these off but you can use them to help or you can write them down on pieces of your paper for your child.
Today we are going to start our own self portrait. Remember that we are exploring the work of the artist Picasso and his use of shapes when creating his own self-portraits. We have attached some templates to help you think about how to draw a self portrait. You could draft your own portrait first and then carry out another one but this time in the style of Picasso. We have attached the power point again and this time we want to you look closely at the shapes he has used for his facial features. Look at his use of lines and various shapes including sketching to create a self-portrait in the style of Cubism. Send in your pictures of your self-portrait. In school we are going to start our self-portraits today and we will finish them off next week so don't rush, spend time creating a self-portrait in the style of Picasso.
