Please remember to help your child form numerals including writing the word to represent a number. Continue to support your child with a speedy recall of number bonds up to 10 (10+0=10, 9+1=10...). Use any opportunity as you say 5 plus what is equal to 10? or 3 plus what is equal to 5? Sing along with Jack Hartmann as he sings number bonds up to 10. You can sing bonds from 5 up to 10. This is a fun way to help your child develop a recall of bonds. We are continuing to explore and develop our skill in adding two groups together. For example, there are four apples in the bowl. I add two more apples. Now I have five apples altogether. Your child can write this number sentence (4+3=6). This is also a number bond to six, can you think of all the number bonds to six?

Children are also looking at finding a part. For example, I have 6 apples altogether, this is the whole. I know that I have 4 apples in one part, what is the other part? 6 is the whole, 4 is a part, what is the other part?

You can also play games like hit the button from Top Marks to support your child with addition and speedy recall of number bonds to 10. Link is attached.
