English (Immersion) - New book & writing topic introduction
Today we will slowly reveal our new year 6 book by looking at vocabulary found on its blurb (back cover) and contents pages. Can you answer the questions below and predict what the book might be about before it is revealed on the power point?
Maths
  • Mixed numbers to improper fractions Watch the video and pause it to answer the questions on the sheet when it asks you to. You do not need to print the sheet off, answer the questions on a piece of paper if that is easier. The answer sheet is also there so you can mark and correct when you have finished. If you are finding any questions really difficult, please son't worry, just try your best!
New Science Topic

Lesson 1 - Naming and grouping animals according to their characteristics and features.

Firstly look through the below power point and video links explaining the different animal groupings and their characteristics eg birds with their feathers, warm blood, young born in eggs.

Activity - Using blank paper or the below sheet create an animal fact file identifying its characteristics using information from the above video, poster sheet and lesson presentation.

Don't forget to tweet your animal fact files/posters to us. You could ask an adult to take a photo of your work and tweet it to year 6 and St.Christophers using - @ChrissiesSpeke  @elsworth_mr  @KatherineCairn2

Extension - Why not play guess the mystery animal or animal bingo explained on the power point presentation again using blank paper or the below bingo sheet.
