Page 1 – Our topic for this term ‘houses and homes’.. Can you remember the name of the artist they looked at briefly last week?
Page 2 – Reveal artist name – L.S Lowry.
Page 3 – The skills you will be learning over the next few lessons - Using different mediums and exploring lines, shapes and tones.
Page 4 – What do we know about him
Activity 1 ‘Profile page’ – Children complete a profile page about the artist. Write name, glue in image(do not worry if you can't do this) and write facts.
Continue with Powerpoint look at images and title of pieces –discuss the artwork using questions.
Activity 2 – ‘Lowry’s work - select a piece of work that you particularly like from selection provided below. Note down what you like:
-shapes of building – strong lines / simple shapes
-colours used / tones used
-does it look far away / up close
