Today we are going to explore the use of a number track and a number line in counting back. Watch the teaching slide first and then help your child to complete the worksheet in a practical way using the number track and number line sheet attached. It is better to start with the number track and give your child a simple number sentence such as 3-2=? What is the starting number - 3, how many jumps do you need to take to count back - 2, showing that 3-2=1.You don't need to print off the word document as your child could draw these on any piece of paper with your support.
