Wellbeing and Mindfulness Club

Wellbeing and Mindfulness Club

Each week, Mrs Burton holds a wellbeing and Mindfulness club.

We think it is important that children learn how to listen to and be aware of their minds and this club provides children with the opportunity to do this. It also gives children the chance to have some quiet, relaxing time and to talk about their feelings and worries.

At mindfulness club, we do many activities such as yoga, guided meditations and mindfulness colouring. Children are given the opportunity to share and contribute their ideas as to what they want to do at the club and what activities they feel will help them to become more mindful.

After this club has taken place, children leave feeling more relaxed and mindful about all they have to be thankful for.

Mindfulness Colouring

Mindful colouring, as with meditation and art therapy, can provide numerous benefits for all ages. Along with providing a much-needed break and the chance to relax and refocus it can:

  • Help lift your mood, decrease anxiety and stress
  • Encourage forming positive, relaxation-based coping mechanisms to help manage anxious thoughts and feelings
  • Distract from negative thoughts and interrupt a focus on worries about past or future events

Children love the mindfulness colouring we do at the club. Below are some mindfulness colouring pages which children can complete at home.

Guided Meditations

Below is a link to some guided meditations which you can have a go at whilst you are at home.

Find a quiet, relaxing place and get yourself in a comfy position.
