Pupil Voice

We are always trying to listen to what you have to say and about your ideas for how we can keep improving our amazing school. We have lots of ways that you can share your ideas in school:

  • Our Pupil Leadership Team - Your Head and Deputy Head Boys and Girl: Connor, Heli, Nathan and Lacey from Year 6, are happy to listen to any suggestions you may have about school or just for a chat. This year, their chosen charity is Marie Curie Cancer charity and they have already raised over £300 with your support. Their chosen project for year is to increase the amount and variety of extra-curricular club. They have already introduced a lunchtime Cross Country club and an Art club and lots more are on the way. Connor has also worked with Miss Doyle and the scientists from CSL Sequirus to plan our Science Fair for British Science Week.
  • Our Student Council - You have elected a Student Councillor from your class to be a representative. Please share your ideas with them, so they can share them in their Student Council Meetings.
  • Votes and Idea Gathering - So far this year, you have been asked to share you ideas and then vote for new activities for the playground and for how to set up our new Chill Out, Prayer and Sensory Gardens.
  • Pupil Voice Surveys - sometimes you will be asked to complete a survey about how you are feeling about school. Our latest survey in March showed the following:

-97% of children said that they were happy coming to school St. Christopher's.

-99% of children said that they felt safe at school.

-100% of children could identify two trusted adults in school.

-95% of children said that adults help them in school.

Most popular things that you said were the best things about St. Christopher's:

"The kind teachers, your friends, playtimes and lunchtimes, people are kind and look after each other, Maths, Art, History, Events like school discos and family bingo."

Things you said would make St. Christopher's even better and what we are or are doing about them:

"Have less footballs on the yard, so people don't get hit with them." We have reduced the amount of football to only the 3 school footballs, which are all used on one side of the playground, so that everyone else can play without risking being hit by them.

"Have some different clubs at lunchtime." We have lots of new lunchtime clubs that have started or are about to start including, Lego club, Library club and Art club.

"Swings and slides on the playground" Sadly, I'm not sure that we can do this one, however we have just bought lots of new equipment and games for the yard, to keep you busy.

***If you have anything you want to take about, please remember that you don't have to wait for a survey or a Student Council Meeting. You can always speak to a member of staff, whenever you get a chance and don't forget  -if it is about something urgent or related to someone not feeling safe, please don't wait - speak to someone straight away.
