At St Christopher's Primary school, children pray in a variety of ways.
Prayers are said in classes daily - morning prayer, Grace before lunch and evening prayer.
We also encourage our children to create their own prayers.
Please find below some of the more Traditional Prayers that we say in school.
The Sign of the Cross
In the name of the father,
and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is
the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now, and at the hour of our death.
Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be
Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done,
on earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our
daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we
forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us
not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
St Christopher's Parish
On Friday 10th May we were lucky enough to have met Sarah Marshall the school chaplain at the Academy of St. Nicholas. Sarah held a very formative assembly to us about the concept of 'inspiration' and what it feels like to feel inspired and how we can help to inspire others. The children talked about the people who inspire them and this ranged from family members, members of the emergency services to famous footballers. Sarah shared her personal feelings and experiences of being inspired by God in all that she does and how we can be inspired by Jesus and his teachings. The children were taught a fun dance and song to end the session.
