Lesson 1


Find out as much as you can about the rain forests. Write a postcard describing what you can see using nouns, adjectives, verbs, similes and metaphors. Have a look at this BBC Bitesize website to help you use different word types.

Lesson 2

 Research as much as you can about foods/products that contain palm oil.

Create a persuasive and informative poster or leaflet to demonstrate the dangers of palm oil and encourage people to check the foods they eat and the products they use everyday. Remember to use lots of persuasive language and facts about the subject in your poster or leaflet. This BBC Bitesize video may help you:


Lesson 3

If you can, watch the film 'The Lorax'. If you can't find the film, this is the original version on You Tube.

Discuss the film with a family member.  What environmental issues does it bring up? What happened to the land when all the trees were chopped down?

Why do you think it is important for the Earth that we protect our forests?

Make some notes about your findings and your opinions.
