PE

At St. Christopher's Primary School we pride ourselves on our huge sporting successes. Along with numerous extra-curricular sporting sessions, pupils enjoy a broad variety of activities during their weekly PE sessions.

Children have at least one PE session each week, in which we develop the six areas of activity as set out in the National Curriculum - Dance, Gymnastics, Games, Athletics, Outdoor & Adventurous and Swimming. Our broad PE Curriculum promotes participation in a wide range of different sports that change throughout the course of the year. These include football, tennis, hockey, rounders, basketball, badminton, netball and cricket.

Swimming

Years 4-6 enjoy a 10 week block of swimming sessions each year, at our local pool. The talented coaches strive to ensure that all children can swim at least 25 metres before leaving primary school. If children are unable to achieve this before the end of Year 6, children take part in top-up sessions in the summer term to give them every opportunity to reach their goal. Pupils thoroughly enjoy these sessions.
